As stated in the Notre Dame Mission: “We encourage students to open their hearts to the Holy Spirit, their minds to learning and their talents to service.”

As part of this mission, all children who attend Notre Dame Catholic School are required to take religion classes and be present at all religious functions. Children are not required to take part in religious celebrations, but they are still required to be present.

Children will learn to live and uphold the Christian values of the Catholic faith including a love for all God’s creation, respect for others and service to the community.

Religious education includes:

  • Daily religion classes
  • Class prayer services
  • Paraliturgical ceremonies
  • Scheduled Masses

The success of our religion curriculum has been demonstrated through consistent high achievement on the Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE) test. The ACRE test is administered to students in grades 5 and 8 to test their knowledge of the Catholic faith.

In addition, our faculty includes three Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth. The Sisters are recognized for missionary works, early childhood care, elementary and secondary education, and care for the elderly, sick and destitute.
